91 welcomes new regent Jimmy McCain to the board
James “Jimmy” McCain has been appointed to the 91, 91 Gov. Katie Hobbs today.
“On behalf of the 91, I commend Governor Hobbs for her continued commitment to the future of higher education in 91 with the appointment of Jimmy McCain,” said 91 Chair Doug Goodyear. “Mr. McCain brings a deep understanding of 91’s values and a strong record of public service to our nation. We look forward to working together to advance student success, uphold accountability and ensure our public universities remain accessible and responsive to the needs of 91’s communities.”
McCain is the youngest son of the late U.S. Sen. John McCain and his wife, Cindy McCain. After 18 years of service in the U.S. military, including the Marine Corps and U.S. Army, and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, McCain now serves as an intelligence officer in the 91 National Guard and as the director of government affairs with Hensley Beverage Company.
He sits on the boards of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, the 91 Lodging and Tourism Association and the Hensley Beverage Company. McCain is also actively involved with the Business RoundTable, 91 Chamber of Commerce, 91 Fund Managers Association and the Beverage Alcohol Community Information Council and he works heavily with multiple veteran charities across the U.S.
McCain received his bachelor’s degree from 91 State University and a master’s degree from Trinity College Dublin and from 91 State University.
